Republic Watch welcomes high-quality contributions from writers, analysts, subject-matter experts, and commentators.
These guidelines ensure all published content meets our editorial standards for accuracy, integrity, and professionalism.

By submitting content to Republic Watch, you agree to follow the expectations and policies outlined here.


1. Our Editorial Mission

Republic Watch publishes:

  • Fact-based reporting
  • Investigative journalism
  • Policy analysis
  • Opinion commentary
  • Technology & security reporting
  • World and national affairs coverage

We aim to elevate informed discussion and uphold high journalistic standards.

Content must align with this mission.


2. What We Accept

We consider contributions in the following categories:

Must be fact-driven, sourced, and neutral.

Opinion pieces must be grounded in evidence and clearly labeled as Opinion.

Requires verifiable sourcing and documentation.

βœ” Historical context pieces

Must be well-researched and accurate.

βœ” Tech/Security explainers

Must be written responsibly and not provide harmful operational details.


3. Writing Standards

All submissions must be:

  • Original (no plagiarism, no AI-generated content without human authorship)
  • Factually accurate
  • Neutral in tone for news; clearly opinionated only in Opinion category
  • Clean, clear, and well-formatted
  • Free of libel, defamation, or unverified claims
  • Compliant with our Editorial Guidelines
  • Submitted with proper sources and citations

You must:

  • Verify all facts before submitting
  • Attribute all quotes
  • Provide links to primary sources where possible
  • Avoid sensational or misleading language

4. AI Use & Authorship Rules

Republic Watch allows writers to use AI tools for assistance only, such as:

  • Outlining
  • Grammar and clarity
  • Research organization

However, writers may NOT:

  • Submit AI-generated articles as original human work
  • Fabricate quotes, data, or sources
  • Use AI to imitate another person’s writing style
  • Provide unverified or misleading AI-generated claims

All published work must be written and reviewed by a human author.
Your name appears only on content written primarily by you.


5. Length & Formatting Requirements

Standard article length:

  • News updates: 500–800 words
  • Feature analysis: 800–1,500 words
  • Investigative reports: 1,500–4,000+ words
  • Opinion columns: 600–1,200 words

Required structure:

  • Headline
  • Subheadline (optional)
  • Category
  • Author name and bio (50–100 words)
  • Body text with subheadings
  • Sources list (not published unless necessary)

Contributors must follow our article template.


6. Fact-Checking & Verification

Before submission, contributors must ensure:

  • All claims can be verified
  • All statistics include sources
  • All quotes are accurate and properly attributed
  • All names, dates, titles, and agencies are correct

Republic Watch reserves the right to fact-check independently and reject submissions that cannot be verified.


7. Prohibited Content

We do not accept submissions that include:

  • Plagiarism or AI-generated unoriginal writing
  • Hate speech or discrimination
  • Defamation or unproven allegations
  • Graphic content without editorial purpose
  • Copyrighted media without permission
  • Calls to violence or illegal acts
  • Purely promotional or commercial content

Submissions violating these standards will be rejected.


8. Compensation (If Applicable)

If Republic Watch compensates contributors in the future:

  • Payment terms will be disclosed in advance
  • Payments may depend on article length, complexity, and editing requirements
  • Sponsored content requires separate agreements

For now, contributions may be unpaid or part of a volunteer/writer-exposure program.


9. Editorial Control

By submitting content, you acknowledge:

  • Editors may make revisions
  • Editors may change headlines, subheads, and formatting
  • Editors may request additional documentation or edits
  • Editors may decline your submission for any reason
  • Republic Watch has final approval over all content published

Rejected submissions may not receive detailed feedback.


10. Rights & Licensing

By submitting an article to Republic Watch, you grant us:

  • A non-exclusive, worldwide license to publish, edit, distribute, and archive your content
  • Permission to promote your article on social platforms
  • The right to maintain the content permanently in our archives

You retain:

  • Copyright to your original work
  • The right to republish your own work elsewhere

We ask that republished work includes attribution:

11. Bio, Headshot & Author Page

Contributors must provide:

  • Full name (or approved pen name)
  • Short bio (50–100 words)
  • Optional headshot (minimum 400Γ—400 px)
  • Links to social media or portfolio (optional)

This information appears on your author page and below your articles.


12. Submission Process

13. Conflicts of Interest

Contributors must disclose:

  • Employment ties
  • Political affiliations
  • Financial relationships
  • Investments in companies mentioned
  • Personal connections to story subjects

Failure to disclose may result in rejection or removal of published content.


14. Revisions & Takedowns

Republic Watch may:

  • Request revisions before publication
  • Correct errors post-publication
  • Remove articles that violate editorial standards
  • Retract content that is false, misleading, or improperly sourced
